How to Check the Expiry date of Gas Cylinder?

You have seen your mom cooking food for you on the stove by Red Gas cylinder. This red cylinder can be very dangerous for you if you do not check it properly while taking it from the provider.

You should always check the expiry date and leakage of gas from the LPG cylinder. You can easily check the leakage by smell or water test but the expiry date is also important and I will tell you how to check it properly. Let's start.

Step 1:

On top of the gas cylinder, there are three pillars connected with a circular ring at the top. On one of those pillars, You will see a code like C-19 or B-21, etc. This code is your cylinder's expiry date but it is in code and I will tell you how to decode it.

Step 2:

This code starts with an alphabet and it will only from A, B, C, D. This alphabet tells you the quarter in which this gas cylinder will expire.

Below you can see which alphabet shows which quarter in the year.

                     A: January to March
                     B: April to June
                     C: July to September
                     D: October to December

After you calculate the quarter then look at the next part of the code which is a number and this number is the year in which the LPG cylinder will expire.

If the number is 15 then means it is 2015 and that is how you will calculate the expiry date of the gas cylinder.

So, for the demo let's take A-23 as code and we have to tell the expiry date of the gas cylinder. So, by A we can say that this cylinder will expire in the first quarter which is January to March and by 23 we can say that this cylinder will expire in 2023.

So, totally we can say that this cylinder will expire from January to March 2023. I hope you have understood the method. So, now calculate by yourself.
